The HB-89 is a flower type bayonet style lens hood designed for use with certain NIKKOR lenses. It is designed to keep flare from reaching the lens while shooting.
The Lens Hood is designed specifically for the Nikon NIKKOR Z 35mm f/1.8 S lens, reduces flare by diverting stray light away from the lens. The lens is further shielded by the hood against unintentional knocks, bumps, and scratches. It is provided here as a backup or swap for the one that came with the lens at first.
